I recently bought a clipper, I think it's a Wahl and I got it at Walmart for like $30. My plans are just to keep her feet trimmed (to make it easier to cut her nails) and the occasional trim. Bella gets so scruffy looking.

I've tried having my husband hold her and she freaks out. So the last time I set her on the counter and leashed her up like they do at the groomers. Bella wasn't thrilled but I was able to trim her and she didn't get hurt.

I've no clue on the different lengths for the clippers. I did an allright job but I'm no dog groomer for sure.

My advice is to go slow, baby steps. You can always take more off but you can't grow back a bald spot right away.

I'll probably take Bella to the groomer next time. They know what they're doing and Bella won't be laughed at at the dog park.
