I honestly don't feel that she was defending it or him. I just feel like she brought up another point of view; which, considering she is on "The View" is kind of in her job description.
I don't feel that she was trying to offer any sort of excuse for what he did. It was just brought up like, "Hey, has anyone else looked at it this way?"
I am sad to say that there ARE places down here where mothers DO raise their children in that type of environment. I'm not saying MV's mother was one of them, I'm just pointing out there it does happen.
In fact down here, I would be TERRIFIED to list a dog in the local paper as "free to a good home" or even for a low price because their are people who will pretend to be loving, and then take the dog and use it as "bait" in a dog fight. It's horrible, and its sad, but it does happen.
