I think that's great that you want to volunteer at your local shelter.
I volunteer at my local Humane League about 2 Saturdays or more a month. I wouldn't bring my dogs with me, I don't think we'd be allowed. But I never thought about what someone else said about not wearing the same pair of sneaker/shoes home that you wore at the shelter.
OMgosh, I'm going to mention this to the volunteer coordinator at the Humane League. They should be telling ALL the volunteers this when they give them their training.
I know when I get home from there, my two smell me like there is no tomorrow.
