I know this will be a tough decision for you but NO you do not want to bring your dog(s) as there is just to many diseases your dog could pick up. Plus the shelters are very scary for any dog. They can smell the fear and death. Also if you decide to do this please, please have a pair of shoes that you put on and take off at your car at the shelter. These shoes should never enter your yard or home - again so you don't bring any diseases like parvo home. I would also carry handwipes in the car to clean your hands after you have been in the shelter.

It is a wonderful thing you are going to do but you do have to take precautions so you do not harm your furbabie(s) at home.
