I haven't tried it, but some people us a small jar lid or something that they have taped to dowel, or something similar that you can slide under them when they are going. Or, you could always turn the pee pad upside down so it doesn't absorb and get it that way, but seems like it would be messy that way if they stepped in it, went on the edge, etc. Good luck!
