How big is her crate? sometimes when you give them too much space in their crate they will use the potty on one end and then lay in the other...Lucy sometimes pees or poops in her crate but then cries until we clean it out and she will try to push it out the sides of it but she does not lay in it....hmm where did you get your puppy from? Sometimes pups who have been in cages most of their lives are okay lying in their own feces.
