I used to have two boys and one was cotton and one silk; now I have Izzy who is silk. I voted no preferance since I wouldn't choose a companion based on coat but I do like the teddy bear feel of the cotton -they look so cuddly. Maintenance of the silk coat to me is harder - you have to brush/comb every day for it to look good. But either is fine with me - they all look beautiful.
