I don't know anything about leggs-calve-perthes, but my Lacy was diagnosed with luxating patellas about a week and a half ago. Like Prissy012899 said there are 4 grades. Grade 1 being the least serious and which doesn't require surgery. Grades 2-4 require surgery. Thank God Lacy is at grade 1!! With grade 1 the knees slip out but go back in by themselves. I didn't even know because she showed no symptoms. The vet said it was because it didn't bother her. So I think it would probably depend on how serious it is for your dog to show any symptoms of luxating patellas. If your dog starts limping or showing signs of pain in one or both legs I would definetly get it checked out by the vet!
