I agree with Yorkiekids and would concentrate on paper training first, then outside. Sophie was paper trained, and I was able to use that method for her entire life while I was at work, etc. However, when she learned outside, when I was home she would let me know, so I incorporated both routines in her schedule.

Definitely, don't scold for going to the paper and their will be mistakes on the floor until all of the training comes together. Sometimes the Sunday paper took a hit or two

Good luck -Deborah PS 10 weeks is extremely young, and there are a lot of breeders who won't even let the pups leave their mothers until a few weeks older. There are some excellent website on puppy training that may help you.
