I definitely agree with getting a second opinion. The other thing is if there is not an accupuncture vet clinic near you, I would still place a call to an accupuncture vet & talk over the phone.
When my dog 1st had his stroke I had been to the traditional vet & treatment wasn't working, I called the accupuncture vet. He spoke with me & was so kind. He gave me information about accupuncture & told me he thought he could help my dog.
My Andre was paralysed from the stroke on one-side & could not walk. It was miserable. We went to see Dr. Van twice in like 3 days and Andre got up & started walking. Of course, he continued to have accupunture for some time at less regular intervals, but he lived pain free & even ran around like the stroke never happened.
