I had maggie in her crate at night from day 1. BUT...she loved her crate. and I started letting her sleep with me but find that she prefers her crate!!
makes me sad because I want her to snuggle with me at night
oh well.
you just need to make the crate a "good" place. make it so that they love the crate. then when they have to go in it, they should not cry. every dog is different. maggie never cried once when in her crate. Maya, the puppy we watched for several days before she went to her new mommy, hated the crate and screamed every time she had to go in it. until the last night we had her, of course LOL then she was fine in it.
