Otis had little scabs/dandruff type things all over his lower back/tail area of his body. They're hard to notice unless you're picking and exploring and digging at him, which I'm guilty of.
I did some internet research and figured it was a yeast infection. I went to the doctor, and she said they were old flea bites, and he probably made them worse by chewing and scratching. But I expressed my skepticism because I've never seen him chew or scratch that hard to make those ugly marks, so she gave me some topical antibiotics and Malaseb shampoo, which SEEMED to have worked.
One other thing is it's pretty sunny and warm in California, and we've been going to tons of walks. Otis is shaved pretty short, so I figured maybe he got sunburned, which made his skin kinda peel the way a human's skin would. |
