 Some advise
I have a pup that is 14 weeks now, he is trained to go on pee pads but for poop he makes a bee line for the mat at the front door. i just really watch him and if he goes to the front door I redirect him to the pee pad and this seems to work. The pee pads are in the laundry room so it is not far from the front door. I would just really watch him and if you see him heading to the washroom to use the mat just pick him up quickly and put him outside. The reward him when he does poop outside. The other thing I would suggest is to really wash the mat so the smell from previous poops is not there or you could move the mat unwashed by the outside door so if he goes to it you can quickly whisk him outside.
