My first yorkie "Duke" had Pneumonia and then he ended up with kennel cough and scarred lung tissue.
He had to be on antibiotics for other 4 months but finally got other ever thing but the cough. it sounded like smokers cough when he over exerised.
Follow the vets advice and your baby should be better soon.
