Hello all,
I'm so glad I found this site. We are new owners of a 9 week old male yorkie. His name is Spike (my girls wanted him to have a "tough" name). I have to admit I know very little about training. Our last puppy was over 10 years ago. She seemed to pick up on training quickly. I'm confused about outside training vs. paper training, when should his ears come up? When should he be neutered? He already responds to his name, and comes when called (most times). He is too young for local "formal" classes, but that is my next step in behavior training. Will we confuse him by training for outside and in? He gave me a que this morning that he wanted to go out by whimpering, but I missed it and he pooped on the floor. What about when we are out? My last issue with him, he whines and screams at night. I know he is lonely, but we have to sleep too. I put my husbands old tee shirt in his crate, which is in a pen in my kitchen, just outside my bedroom door. Last night he didn't cry unit 7am (I can deal with that). I want to do the right thing in training and caring for him. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
