Gidget sounds like Toto! Sometimes if she is sleeping really soundly, she responds to a noise that way but as a rule, she doesn't bark either! I think that she does it if she is startled! Toto suffers from "rooster syndrome" too!! I have insomnia but always do "quiet things" to let Papa & Toto get their "beauty" sleep until 4:45 AM! Just this week, she has started jumping on Papa's chest and licking his beard at about 3:30 AM!!! Since he has an hour commute each way to his office, he really needs that extra hour zzzzz! We have tried the playing before bed and she goes to sleep really tired ... just wakes up early! Wonder if they make tiny little doses of "Ambien" for Yorkies!?!
