As suggested by an earlier post, if your attempting to keep a long coat and if it's a show dog, I wouldn't put clothes on them. It does ruin the coat.
Once my dogs have been championed and finished their show career they are cut down and sweaters are put on them in the winter and sometimes pj's on those cold nights. Well that was when I lived in Texas, but since I now live in Southern California, I don't think that will be necessary.
