LOL, then you have me beat on the care, because I never put that much into it. As they were tearing out my floor, I joked, "I'll do anything to get out of mopping the floor!"

The flooring place said that the coating on this type of wood floor makes it as easy to care for as the laminate. He said you clean it the same way, no buffing or any of that. So that part isn't an issue. I'm just mostly worried abut the scratching. I'm the type that if I see something messed up, my eye will be drawn to it every time and I'll get mad. But for whatever reason, I kind of just like the idea of having "real" wood.

This is going to be a tough one. I'm also considering having the hard floor (whether I go with the wood or the wilsonart again) extend through the family room too.

I should go look at some model homes and get some ideas!
