I feed raw because my dogs do best on it, they are thriving. However don't feed raw unless you are confident that you can get it right, its like giving yourself a healthy diet you have to get the balance of different nutrients correct.

Also, some healthy snacks that you can give are:
little pieces of apple (cut and peeled and no seeds)
watermelon (seedless)
berries
bananas (if no kidney issues)
carrots
shredded plain boiled chicken
organic nonfat yogurt - plain and nonfat cottage cheese with bits of fruit added (if your dog isn't allergic to milk products)
etc...
