We started Bogey with "stay" every time we opened the door. He learned not to go out until we told him to "go". Now, he follows behind us when we open the door unless we ask him do you want to go potty? He knows then that we're opening the door for him. Almost every time we tell him to sit before we open the door & then tell him "let's go" before he will move outside. He also has learned when he hears a car or truck come up the driveway he goes up the steps & sits & waits until it stops before he goes to say "Hello".
