She is worried so I would not get after her, she is trying to find a safe place( in her mind ) for her babies.

I would definetly take this advice. I saw my MIL's dog do this once....it drove me crazy!!!!!!! I can't stand watching it and the mother looks awfully nervous having to to it. Please let us know if it works....it sounds like it should.
