I haven't read this whole thread but came across this post while reading the first page. First off, I am what is considered white but I am actually half Asian. My mother is Burmese and although she was raised as a Catholic, her father - my grandfather - was a Muslim. I was raised with a full understanding of this religion even though i was being raised in a "white" culture. I hold very tightly to my religious heritage even though i am a practising catholic and raise my own child in this faith. The Muslims that I have been exposed to are very loving and very open people, they are people intrigued and attached to learning and intellect. They are a people who understand the differences in cultures and accept and understand the choices that people make in their own intellectual and religious beliefs. I am proud of my heritage and make no bones about it. This is not about Islam or any religion. This is about America and the choices that our government makes. Islam IS a peaceful religion. Al Quadea is NOT Islam. It is a fundamentalist group that does not like the American policy and is taking action against it.
