December is tricky. I have to start at the beginning of fall to think out the weather...so bear with me...

October is usually hot until Halloween, which is often the first cool day. From then on, it is usually pretty cool until just before Thanksgiving--about a week before. That is when the Santa Ana winds start, and it is hot and dry. The come off and on for a while, so I'm thinking you can count on warm windy weather for early December. It doesn't start getting really cold here, usually until the end of January.

But Southern CA has been known to break the rules as far as weather goes. Last summer was extremely hot, and last winter was extremely long and cold.

Clear as mud?
