I'm sorry to hear about the scare, but thankfully it was just a scare and not an injury. Some pet owners are in denial about their pets' behaviors, in my opinion.

A few weeks ago I was at PetSmart buying a few things and had Wickett on his leash. We were going down an isle and there was a lady there looking at doggie doors with a yellow lab. I spoke to Wickett loudly, anouncing our presence and that he was a smaller dog.....she didn't even look our way. As we got a bit closer, her dog went NUTS and started barking and growling at Wickett. I picked him up right away......a 4 lbs yorkie would be a snack to a lab. And you know what the woman did??? She gave me a dirty spiteful look and said something to her daughter along the lines of "I can't believe she's bringing that dog down this isle" as if it were a shock that there would be another dog at PetSmart!!! That really made my blood boil. I kept my cool, but continued down the isle with Wickett in my hands while the lab pulled on his leash and barked, just to annoy his owner. In hindsight, that probably wasn't the safest thing for me to do for myself, but she really upset me.

In my opinion....if your dog has issues with other dogs or people, you shouldn't take them to a place where they will be surrounded by both.
