I thought I might tell you that Lucy's temp flucuated for 3 days before she had the babies. Also, she had false labor during this time too. But, the her temp dropped to 97.7 and then all the way to 97.3 and went back up to 97.7 and then she delivered. I mentioned this to the vet and she said that some of them do this. But, I had never whelped a dog before so I was concerned...lol
Also, when Lucy went into labor she did not want to leave me at all. She actually wanted to be in my lap. She started digging franticly at me and panting very hard and I could feel her contractions, within 2 hours of this she delivered her first baby. Also the icecream seemed to help her alot.
One more thing, after she is finishes delivering all the babies I would give her chicken noodle or chicken and rice soup. She will need the protein.
