I prefer an ex-pen for confinement. I'm a sucker for the whining and the barking when I tried to crate. Otis has a crate but it is always open and he goes in and sleeps in it frequently. I wish I had been stronger because they still have accidents on my wood floor, sometimes. Maybe try belly bands when he's inside but not confined. They help me alot!!
