No offense to anyone in this thread that is buying or bought a purebred, but I don't agree with it at all.
I have 3 mixes, and I will never buy a mix again ( I would RESCUE, but not purchase from a "breeder"). I agree they are "different" and cute, but practically everyone breeding these dogs is adding to the overpopulation problem and are usually bybs or puppymills. There is no health testing done on most of them and no standard to attempt to reach.
Reputable breeders would not mix a dog, they only attempt to better the breed.
I only bring this up because I wish someone would have told me some of these facts before I spent tons of money on dogs that came from puppymills and byb's. They are healthy right now thank goodness and I hope they continue to be.. but I just had to add my .02 here. |
