Brodie acting weird - Ate chicken bone Okay.... I feel like everytime I write, it's because something bad has happened.... I have a 7 mo yorkie who I absolutely adore and yes I spoil him and sometimes over react to things. Saturday he got a hold of a chicken bone and ate the two ends off and some bone came off with it. I was able to get it from him before he really ate much of the hard bone. I read online and got the idea that even though it was serious, I should wait for signs before I brought him to the vet. Everthing has been fine, bowel movements, appetites etc until tonight. When I walked him this evening he pooped normally and we came inside and I started cooking dinner. While I was cooking dinner (he is so spoiled I cook him chicken regularly) the stove smoked a little and I had to turn the fan on. Around this time Brodie started shaking and whimpering. My first thought was he was scared of the smoke so I took him on a short walk outside and he was fine. When we came back inside he did the same thing again. I gave him honey and sugar (I don't have any Nutralite? but I def will buy some next time I go) just in case it was low sugar. I fed him but he didn't have much of an appetite. He rolled around on the ground, whimpered more and kept shaking. He keeps wanting me to hold him which is strange because as much as he loves me he doesn't like to sit still. He is still wanting to play though, he keeps bringing me his toys. So at the moment he is still whimpering and wanting attention/to be held, but I don't know what is going on??!!! Has anyone experienced this before? Do you think it's the chicken bone? The smoke scared him? His stomach is upset? I cannot afford another emergency vet clinic that turns out to be nothing but an over-reaction. While I was typing this he curled up by my feet and is napping. I am really worried, but I can't tell if its something serious or not. Please help, Thanks! |
