I think these close encounters of the creepy kind are frighteningly not unusual...In fact I have had many of them...
Generally the rule is if you are mentally unstable in anyway you are going to want to be my friend...I also tend to be a serious people pleaser and I think that people can read that and I look like an easy target...
One night in undergrad I was studying fairly late at an all night type coffee shop. This rather conspicuous looking guy in paint stained overalls, and two unmatching sandals, no shirt mind you came and sat at my table. He did the usual what is your name, blah blah blah, then proceeded to tell me how I had some of the nicest smoothest looking skin her had ever seen, I thanked him, and no joke he followed it up with "If I just happened to come across your dead body I would make some of it into a wallet." Needless to say since I have always had this almost bizarre fear of meeting with foul play I took a taxi the 3 blocks back to my dorm...
