I was born and raised in the South. I love it here. I can't imagine living anywhere else.
There is, however, a HUGE difference in the "city" South and the "rural" South. Where we live right now is considered "rural". They all think I'm a weirdo because I'm from the city. Atlanta is like a foreign country to some of DH's family as well as our neighbors. For example, "Mr. J." had a field day with me when he found out I'd never seen a cow in real life before. "What do you mean that girl ain't never seen a cow before?" is what he said to DH. They are just as confused and perplexed by me as I am by them. We are all learning though.
