We use to use a playpen for Meka... Until one day, we came home to find her sitting right at the door waiting for us... She had climed out of her pen (one side was like a "mesh" material) and had been out running wild most of the day. Think she was only happy to see us that day, cause she was unable to get to her water bowl that was in the pen... So, some good thought should go into what model to buy.... From what I've read, xpens seem to be most popular.... Hope this helps 8)
