I have known several people over the years that were Bi-polar. It can be very scary when they go off their meds. But things are great when they are on their meds.
Most of us are all Oprah fans....well, did you see it the day she had Sonny from General Hospital on there? He was very candid about his struggles with bi-polar. He said what every bi-polar person says....that he goes through spells that he thinks he can go off the meds and that is ALWAYS a mistake. He said that he has finally came to terms with the fact that he will have to be medicated for the rest of his life for this disorder.
Family members are put through hell when living with NON medicated bi-polar loved ones.
My husband has a friend that is bi-polar and has LOST everything because he will not stay on his meds. We went from making about 500K per year with a great job, lived in a million dollar home, had a wife, had two beautiful children....he had everything but lost it all because he would not stay on his meds. He tried to treat himself with illegal drugs and alchohol

and ended up in jail and rehab.
I think it is great that he has appointment!!! Hopefully, he will get the meds that he needs and stay on them.
I cannot imagine how hard all this is for you!! I feel for all those who have this ugly disorder and for those that have to live with people that have it. BUT meds make all the difference in the world! It is my understanding that people with bi-polar can live a very normal live as long as they stay on their meds!!
Best of luck to you!!
