fleas I had the same problem with my yorkies so here's what i did and the fleas are gone.
1) have someone bring your yorkie outside
2) Clean the house, if you have carpet, steamclean it, if you have hardwood, wash it with hotwater + chemical soultions. Make sure you clean each room in the house. Let it dry up for a few hours, then spray Frontline spray or any other spray on the hardwood/carpet and let it dry up. Make sure you also clean the crate, pet's bed, your bed.
3) Bath your Yorkie, dont' wet the entire yorkie, hand wet the face first, then put flea shampoo on the head, face, (avoid eyes), leave shampoo on for 10 mins. Then wet neck, apply shampoo, leave on for 10 mins, continue through body and legs. Make sure you get through all parts of the body, hidden spots, armpit, etc....
4. Soak yorkie in warm water, i mean put the entire body in the water besides the head for 5 mins. That will if the fleas survive the flea shampoo , the water will drown them. Check the neck/head of the yorkie for flea surviver, if you find any, killed them, they can't run no more.
Now you have a fresh clean yorkie, flea free and he will not be able to pick up any fleas roaming in your house.
however, if you do bring him to the park or backyard, make sure you bomb/clean your yard with flea powder or spray. |
