Default We need some help!!!

We have an 8 month old Male Yokie named Gus (actually Gus Gus, named after the fat little mouse in Cinderella.) He is the sweatest little thing and we love him to death....BUT....we are having the hardest time with two things. First, it has been 3 1/2 months and he is still not house trained. We take him out often, first thing in the morning my daughter gets him out of his crate and takes him outside. He does his thing quick and he knows what to do. After that we bring him in for breakfast and playtime. 30-45 minutes later he wets on the carpet. No notice or anything.

second issue. his crate. He hates it!!! It is big enough for him to stand up and turn around and get comfy but thats it. When we put him in it he growls and bites at our fingers, then the barking comes. Not just for 10-15 minutes, we are talking 1.5 2 hours of non stop yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, yip, if you get my drift. Our kids are great with him, they play with him he plays with them (6 year old girl and 3 year old girl).

We are at the end of our rope.....We thought we were doing it all right but it has NEVER taken this long to train a dog. PLEASE any help would be great! He is very healthy and very active which we are glad about.
