Thanks to all who replied.

This is what I've done the last few days:

* Bathed him in Dawn detergent instead of the flea shampoo
* Bought a flea comb and have been using that regularly - caught 2 fleas in it today, so I suppose that's an improvement from before
* Started giving him brewer's yeast and garlic tablets as a supplement

We have mostly hardwoods here, but I will buy some Borax and use it on the few carpeted areas.

He seems to be somewhat less itchy, so I hope it's working. I'll let some more weeks go by before I start using Revolution on him again (still scared of overdosing him), and this time, I'll be sure to wait a few days after a bath to apply.
