When I first brought my puppy to the vet he said he may have the same thing. When did you get your puppy? Most likely, he has kennal cough. I was told by my breeder that colapsed trachae usually appears in adult dogs or older puppies. If he is coughs for no reason talk to your vet about kennal cough. The puppy can be put on a simple antibiotic and in 7-10 days you will see improvement. I did alot of reserch on colapsed trachae and have never heard of it going away.
