You will have to be very firm with her. By firm I don't mean to be mean to her, I mean you will have to teach her like mama would do. After having my two babies Beamer and Rainbow (now 20 weeks old) I remember that at about 7-12 weeks is when mama was teaching them to play nice. If they were biting each other, she would go over and get between them. If they bit her, she would bite their legs to make them sit still and mind. She herded them like a little sheepdog. I thought she was being mean to them, but she was just teaching them what was acceptable. She didn't bite them hard, she just sort of mouthed them to keep them in line. So since she is with you instead of mama, you will have to teach her what is acceptable and what is not. There are so many ways and each dog is different, so you will just have to find what works. Maybe time out in an xpen when she gets too wild. I am sure the classes you will have her in will help a LOT! As for cuddling, they just take thier time and as they grow older they want to cuddle even more. Sunnie wasn't a cuddler as a puppy, but now he is the biggest lover. Sunshine was always a cuddler. They are all different. It will come though. Yorkies are just cuddlers by nature I think. They just each take thier own sweet time. |
