Most animals do just fine being put under. Just make sure your vet is knowledgable about toy breeds, and make sure they do all the neccessary blood work before the surgery. I highly recommend neutering your dog if you don't plan to show and breed. And it's best to have everything done at once so he's only put under once. He should be just fine
