 Hardwood or laminate...which is better for dogs?
I have researched this but keep getting confusing information. I need to get rid of this carpet...it is so nasty. I love the idea of hardwood and know it is much better for resale value, but worry about it being scratched by my 3 dogs. Also when they have accidents, whether it is poo, pee or vomit what will that do to the hardwood...I know it will do nothing if it is found right away but what if it was left overnight, for instance?
As for the laminate, I understand it is less likely to scratch but that it cant get wet either which seems weird since I know so many people that put it in their kitchen. What is your experience with laminate? Do you really think it looks like real wood? In the research I have done, there is not a huge price difference between wood and laminate...I think the estimate for my downstairs was about $500 difference.
