I use the original gel on Ruby's teeth. Her teeth are in excellent condition and she doesn't have bad breath either. The original gel smells like mint to me. I put it on a Q-tip, then spread it around on her teeth.
I've never tried the spray, but think it would be more convenient than the gel. I just didn't want to go to the expense of both, as little as is used. And, I wasn't sure about the shelf life and didn't want to have to trash it because of expiration dates.
