I'm in vet school now (just finished my first week!), and as part of one of our classes this year (correlates) we actually have to learn all the different dog breeds, cat breeds, horses, cows, pigs, and I think goats. I don't expect everyone to know how to identify every breed. I just hate when people assume..if they don't know what something is just say you don't know. I worked at a grooming salon/dog boutique for the past two years (both part and full time) and there were a couple of times that someone would call and say they had a breed that I was unfamiliar with. I had to put appointment down according to size so I'd just tell them I was unfamiliar with the breed and ask about its size and all. People just look stupid when they assume wrong..
