Newbies coming to the site trying to do research on legitimate breeders can very easily get confused and misunderstand that a link posted may not have been intended to be a good source for pups.
When I saw Pat or Rini's post about this, I thought it was very good advice. I just wish everyone could read that same post. I'll try to find a link to it. |
There will never be a concensus of our 3000 plus or minus members on who are good breeders and who are bad breeders. It is too subjective a subject and the fact is that no breeder is perfect and, in the end, everyone has to decide for themselves who to buy a puppy from. We each come up with criteria and checklists we offer to newbies as advice on what to look for and what to stay away from which is a valuable service in my opinion.
Admin has posted the appropriate disclaimers about items for sale and advertisements such that anyone, even a newbie, will know that he nor the members here are endorsing anything by the mere posting on the part of the member of the seller.
I do not think it is our place to censor people or make them afraid to comment for fear that a newbie may take it as an endorsement. We have to give people more credit than that in my opinion.
