Years ago, my uncle worked for a well known person who owned a kennel and raised silkies and skye's. My uncle ran the kennels and trained them for the Madison Square Garden dog show (he didn't take them into the ring - he just got them ready). The silkies he had were larger than yorkies and beautiful. He actually sold Capt. Kangaroo a silkie (I know, some of you have no idea who that is, but some of you will remember him
. From what I remember, the silkies were bigger than they seem to be now, or is it just that I am bigger than I was then? His had a different coloring, too. Similar look, but more hair over the eyes. That was in the early 60's so they have probably changed somewhat since then. But they were definitely a breed of their own.
