The breeder I purchased my first Yorkie from also bred Silkys. This is the description of a Silky:
Silky Terrier:
The Silky already has lots of Yorkie in its bloodline so they do have a lot in common. In fact the Silky was created by mixing the Australian Terrier (which already had Yorkie in them) and the Yorkshire Terrier. So, they really DO look a lot alike and have very similar temperments and intelligence. The Silky's coat does not grow as long (rarely do you need to cut it), their nose is longer, and they are more muscular/tougher than the delicate Yorkie. They also have no known health problems. |
