Im a smoker to! and the same as you I never smoke in my home etc etc.. and having a previous experience like your's, so I asked the Nurse to contact my Dr. or that I needed to see him, for him to prescribe the patch, and I (really) bugged them till they brought in the patch
my second time when making arrangements for surgery I requested that the patches be submitted with my other meds. So if you ever have to go back just make sure you have that ciggy (patch) condtion in your pre-op once i checked in I confirmed that the patch was included with my scripts.
