What worked well for me, and what I'm doing currently is I am putting the ones that have problems pottying in individual crates in my room. I let them out in the middle of the night to go on potty pads in the bedroom. All during the day, I set a portable clip on timer for 1 hour, and those two having the issues go out.
Once we step outside, I set the timer for 10 minutes. I don't play with them at all. I just say go potty then sit quietly with them.. if they don't potty I simply bring them back in (still on leash) and they go right back in their crates for another 30-hour.
Then we start the whole process over again. I can see that we are making progress because this eliminates the possibility for accidents and everyone is doing a lot better
Good luck! |
I have always believed that the best way to potty train is to make it as difficult as possible to NOT be successful. That's what you're doing. Sounds like it's working.
