My vet has an in-house groomer that does a great job. We started taking Emma there when she was about 4-5 months old. She started with a "puppy's first groom" day, where she kept her for the day...gave her a bath, then let her play, then dried her and combed her, then gave her treats, etc. until she was used to being there. Then she just trimmed up her face, feet, and butt a little, and let Emma sniff around at all the new stuff in the new place...she only charged me $20 for that.
Each time she added a little more time and a little more grooming to the routine until she could give Emma a full groom. I think it was less stressful for Emma to do things that way. She was used to the groomer and being there, and now we don't have any problem dropping her off there for a day of pampering! |
