Well the way we crate trained my pug is that we kept him on a feeding schedule and from the time he was done eating until the time he went potty he couldnt come out of his crate. Then when we let him out we would always praise and give him a treat.
We tried to train him to go outside but it just wouldnt work. he refused to go outside, though im not sure why. Crate training worked out great for us.
