My thoughts are with your family. I'm type 2 using oral meds, but did insulin while I was pregnant. It is a controllable condition, but I know that fact may not help much now.

One thing I can suggest is to see if there is a local support group. Just knowing you are not alone is a help. Any tips or ideas that other patients or parents of patients can give you might be comforting. I went through several stages of emotions after being diagnosed, from being mad to denial to acceptance and back again. Your daughter may or may not experience that, and you may do the same. Support during these times might be just what you need! Just know that you can do this!!

And a good endocrinologist is a must! Find a doctor that you and your daughter feel comfortable with.

This is a life-changing experience for you all, and it's the start of a long journey. Please PM me if you would like to vent, cry or celebrate a milestone on that journey.
