My littlest does that frequently. I ask my friends, and especially my boyfriend, to just approach her more calmly. She can work herself up easily without anyone else helping her along! Plus, as Cesar Millan says, calm assertive energy is the best kind of energy to pass on to your dogs. And I think she does it because she is so tiny (between 2 and 3 lbs), because I don't have any problems with the other doing that. Keeping her calm has definitely been saving my carpets and couches!
